Katie is a recent graduate of San Jose State University with a B.A. in dance. She just finished filming “Rent”, the movie, danced in the 2004 Latin Grammy Awards, and was one of the top 16 finalists in American Idol. Katie grew up in Santa Cruz and began dancing there, later studying at the Edge in Los Angeles. From the age of 10 Katie competed extensively, winning national titles in jazz and tap. Katie has been with The Dance Zone from the beginning, teaching advanced tap, and choreographing tap and lyrical jazz dances for the performing company. We are really excited to have her as part of our Dance Zone staff!

Katie is temporarily on leave of absence. She is currently performing on Broadway for 10 weeks in the play, “Wicked”. We are very excited for her, and look forward to having her back when she’s done. Break-a-leg Katie!
